“A quarter of people in Afghanistan go to bed hungry every evening,” WFP said on social media platform X.

The organization said it urgently needs US$650 million to continue its operations over the next six months, Xinhua news agency reported.

International organizations operating in Afghanistan are calling on global donors to increase support in cash or in-kind for the war-torn country amid a funding crisis since the Afghan caretaker government came to power in August 2021.
