New Delhi [India], The Ministry of External Affairs thanked US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron and Luxembourg Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel for congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi after assuming office for the third consecutive time.

External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, thanking Secretary Blinken, affirmed that the India-US partnership is one of the most important partnerships in the world and New Delhi looks forward to building on its momentum.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took oath for the third consecutive time on Sunday.

President Draupadi Mumu administered the oath to him and other ministers of his cabinet at a grand ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The event was attended by leaders and dignitaries from neighboring countries and the Indian Ocean region, reaffirming India's commitment to the region.In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP-led NDA won the majority for the third time by winning 293 seats. BJP on its own won 240 seats in the 543-member lower house, where the majority figure is 272.

It is noteworthy that after Jawaharlal Nehru, PM Modi is the third leader to take oath as PM for the third consecutive time.
