PM Modi will now reach the government guest house for some rest and after that will offer prayers at Kanyakumari Devi temple.

He will also pay his homage before the statue of Tamil cultural icon Saint Thiruvalluvar.

The Prime Minister will now board a boat from Kanyakumari mainland to Vivekananda Rock Memorial.

He will stay at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial for three days from May 30 to June 1 and meditate for 45 hours in the meditation hall of the Rock Memorial.

The opposition Congress and CPI-M have come out against the Prime Minister's meditation program in Kanyakumari and the Congress had even written to the Election Commission of India asking it not to allow him to meditate.

Tamil Nadu Congress Committee President K. Selvaperunthagai has said that the Election Commission should not allow the PM's meditation program as the code of conduct is in place under the Representation of the People Act.
