Rajiv Ojha, a resident of Bhilwara, Rajasthan, was murdered by his servant Arjun Kumar, a resident of Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday night.
Ojha ran a general store in The Serenas Society located on Sohna Road and lived alone in a flat in the same society.
According to the police, the daughter of the deceased told the police that at around 8 pm on Saturday night someone informed her about the murder of her father.
On receiving the information, she along with her mother and younger brother reached her father's flat where she saw her father's body lying on the floor. He immediately informed the police.
After this the police reached the spot and took the body into custody. During the investigation, the police caught the accused from Agra.
During interrogation, the accused told that he had been working at Ojha's general store for the last three months and when he asked for his salary, an argument broke out between them.
Following an argument, the accused murdered the victim with a sharp-edged weapon inside his flat on June 31 and fled from the spot.
A Gurugram Police spokesperson said, "The accused will be produced before the local court for further legal proceedings. The murder weapon has not been recovered from the accused yet."
