New Delhi [India], According to a report by ESPN Cricinfo, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) may make changes in the seven-member selection committee following the poor performance of the Men in Green in the T20 World Cup 2024.

The report said the PCB will conduct a review to assess what went wrong for Pakistan. The selection committee is also likely to be reduced.

ESPN Cricinfo report states that there is disappointment in the PCB. There is a possibility that Wahab Riaz may leave the selection committee.

Earlier, Pakistan white-ball head coach Gary Kirsten criticized the players' performance and questioned their approach after their early exit in the T20 World Cup. Sources told Geo News that Kirsten expressed concern over the fitness of the players and said that they were not up to standard.

"Despite playing so much cricket, no one knows when to play which shot," Kirsten was quoted as saying by Geo News.

Pakistan ended their campaign with a three-wicket win over Ireland in Florida on Sunday, a big win after India and the US reached the Super 8 stage from Group A.

Pakistan, placed in Group A, faced consecutive defeats to co-host America and then to its arch-rival India. They bounced back with two consecutive wins, but it was not enough to turn around their disappointing campaign and secure a spot in the Super 8s.

Earlier on Monday, Geo News had also reported that captain Babar Azam, Imad Wasim, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan and Azam Khan have extended their stay in the United States. He will leave for Pakistan on June 22.

Mohammad Amir is also staying with the players but will travel to England in a few days to join Derbyshire in the County Championship.
