Four Nigerian nationals living in Noida, Greater Noida have been arrested after 26 kg of MDMA drugs worth Rs 100 crore were seized from their rented house. Officials gave this information on Thursday.

Police said they also seized raw material that could have been used to cook MDMA (methylenedioxyphenethylamine) worth Rs 50 crore. Popularly known as Ecstasy or Molly, MDMA is used illegally as a recreational or party drug.

Greater Noida Deputy Commissioner of Police Saad Miya Khan said four Nigerian nationals were detained after a raid at their house in Omnicron I sector adjacent to Mathurapur village on Wednesday night.This is the third such incident in the last one year in which drug-manufacturing laboratories were set up by foreigners inside a rented house in Greater Noida.

The DCP said, "Operation 'Prahar' has been going on for the last one year to crack down on drug mafia and syndicates. We had received input about this facility running in a house in Omnicron sector, where for the last five-six days There were some suspicious activities going on." Khan told reporters.

"Acting on intelligence and inputs about a drug factory being set up there, the SWAT team and officers from Dadri and Ecotech 1 police stations conducted a joint raid, which led to the recovery of 26 kg of cooked meth (MDMA) and Raw material was confiscated.,

The total value of cooked meth and raw material is estimated to be around Rs 150 crore in the international market, he said.

According to the police, the four arrested have been identified as Ifeanyi Johnbosco, Chidi, Emenyu and Onyechi, all aged in their 30s and natives of Nigeria in Africa.

He said that a verification drive for foreigners living in Greater Noida was conducted recently and would be continued in future also.

Khan said, "Police are working on forward and backward linkages to trace the network of the accused. So far, some indications have emerged which suggest that they have used online mode, dark web and shopping for their work. Apps were used.,

He said that some other points have also come to light during the interrogation, which may lead to the arrest of some more people, but he refused to share the details.

“This is the third such raid of our team in the last one year. In the first raid, 46 kg of MDMA was seized, in the second it was 30 kg and now it is 26 kg.

Therefore, a total of 102 kg of meth has been recovered in almost a year which is a good blow to the drug trade in the area,” the officer said.

On two previous occasions too, foreigners were found cooking meth using proper tools and equipment in their rented homes in Greater Noida.
