Jammu: Police on Thursday conducted searches at the premises of a businessman arrested a day earlier in connection with a case under the Official Secrets Act, officials said here.
Tarun Bahl was detained on Wednesday in connection with a case registered at a police station here for allegedly spreading misinformation with malicious intent, he said.
A secret document issued by the police headquarters is in circulation in WhatsApp groups, 'The Shree Times' and Tarun Bahl-owned 'Aasman' newspaper, a police officer said.
Police raided properties belonging to Bahal and then conducted searches, he said.
He said, during the investigation, search warrants were obtained and raids were conducted at his house in Channi Himmat and the International British School in Chauwadhi.
The officer said that some electronic gadgets and documents were seized during the search.
Bahl has been sent to four-day police custody.
