Polling officials along with security personnel have to travel by boat to 15 polling stations in different districts and pass through hilly and forested areas to reach the remaining 11, an election official said.
Overall, 8.56 lakh voters are eligible to cast their votes at 1,276 polling stations at 1,166 locations in 11 districts of the state, the official said. Of the 1,276 polling stations, 751 are to be set up in rural areas and 525 in urban areas. Fourteen polling stations have been identified as sensitive and five as non-sensitive, officials said. He said 25 model polling stations would be set up with all basic facilities including water.
