In view of the upcoming Union Budget 2024-25, the consultation meeting was chaired by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Deputy CM Diya Kumari urged for early resolution of the East Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP). He also proposed to further strengthen the 'Jal Jeevan Mission' and sought support from the Center for the project.

The Deputy CM presented the case of three big pending rail projects for the state, which will provide connectivity to remote areas. Besides this, he also demanded construction of national highways in the state to strengthen surface transportation.

He said that it is important for the state to have a network of roads to connect remote villages.

Diya Kumari further said that Rajasthan needs proper energy development in view of the development of its agriculture, industries and infrastructure.

Central intervention is necessary to make the state self-reliant in the energy sector, he told the Union Finance Minister, urging him to provide special support to energy companies in the state, so that their potential can be fully utilised.

The Deputy Chief Minister's office said in a statement that the Union Finance Minister has assured that all the demands of Rajasthan will be considered favourably.
