PESHAWAR: At least one Frontier Corps soldier and two government officials were killed by unidentified men riding a motorcycle in two separate terror incidents in northwestern Pakistan's restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday, officials said. Police gave this information.

Police said both incidents occurred in the province's Dera Ismail Khan district.

Attacks on security personnel have increased manifold in the southern districts of the province in the last few months.

In the second incident, gunmen ambushed a government vehicle at Yarak Toll Plaza in the district, killing two officials and injuring two other Customs Intelligence Department officials.

A police officer said that in both the cases the killers managed to flee the scene.

The official said no group has claimed responsibility for any of the attacks and police have registered two separate cases and started investigating the incidents.

This was the second attack on a Customs intelligence vehicle in the last four days.

In an earlier attack, five customs officials were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the district.
