Expressing his disagreement with the policies of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), former ruling party leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that he accused the PML-N of choosing "power politics at all costs" in his remarks on a Geo News programme. He submitted relevant documents to the electoral monitoring office for registration of a new political party. Speaking to reporters, Abbasi had said that he has provided relevant documents to the election monitoring body for his new political party, which will be registered under the Election Act 2017. He also announced that he would run in the next elections under the banner of his new party.
