Bari (Italy), Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the world community should work towards converting monopolies in technology into large-scale use to help lay the foundation of an inclusive society and eliminate social inequalities.

In an address at the outreach session of the G7 advanced economies summit in Italy's Apulia region, Modi also said India will work with all countries to make Artificial Intelligence transparent, fair, safe, accessible and responsible.

The Prime Minister said India's approach to energy is based on four principles – availability, accessibility, affordability and acceptability.

Highlighting the challenges faced by countries in the Global South, Modi said they are bearing the brunt of uncertainties and tensions across the world.

He said, “India has considered it its responsibility to put the priorities and concerns of the countries of the Global South on the world stage.We have given high priority to Africa in these efforts."

He said, "We are proud that under India's chairmanship, the G-20 made the African Union a permanent member. India has been and will continue to contribute to the economic and social development, stability and security of all African countries." Said.

In his address at the outreach session, French President Emmanuel Macron praised Prime Minister Modi's initiatives on AI and digital public infrastructure during India's G20 presidency.US President Joe Biden, in his remarks, described Brazil, Argentina and India as important partners in the minerals sector, officials said.

Prime Minister Modi spoke at length on the importance of ending monopolies in technology.

He said, “We must collectively ensure that the benefits of technology reach all sections of society, realize the potential of every individual in society, help eliminate social inequalities and harness human strengths instead of limiting them.” Let there be expansion."

He said, "This should not only be our wish, but also our responsibility. We have to transform the monopoly in technology into mass use."

The Prime Minister said, “We have to make technology constructive, not destructive.Only then will we be able to lay the foundation of an inclusive society."

He said that the 21st century is the century of technology and there is hardly any aspect of human life which is deprived of the influence of technology.

He said, "While on one hand technology gives courage to take man to the moon, on the other hand it also creates challenges like cyber security."

Modi said India is one of the first few countries to formulate a national strategy on artificial intelligence.

“Based on this strategy, this year we have launched an AI mission.This is derived from the mantra 'AI for all'. As a founding member and lead chair of the Global Partnership for AI, we are promoting collaboration between all countries. ," He said.

The Prime Minister said the importance of international governance in the field of AI was emphasized during the G-20 summit hosted by India last year.

He said, “In the times to come, we will continue to work together with all countries to make AI transparent, fair, safe, accessible and responsible.,

Pointing out to India's Mission LIFE (Lifestyle for Environment), he asked the global community to join the tree planting campaign launched by him on World Environment Day - "Plant4Mother" (named after a tree mother) and take it personally. Called for forming a mass movement. Touch and global responsibility.

“We are making every effort to fulfill our commitment to achieve net zero by 2070. Together we must strive to make the coming era a green one.”

"For this, India has started Mission Life i.e. Lifestyle for Environment.Taking this mission forward, on June 5, Environment Day, I have launched a campaign – “Ek Peed Maa Ke Naam”.

The Prime Minister also laid emphasis on tree plantation to increase green cover.

"We want to make tree planting a mass movement with a personal touch and global responsibility. I urge all of you to join us," he said.

Modi said it was a matter of great satisfaction for him to participate in the summit after being re-elected in the largest democratic process in the history of mankind.
