In his time with Mumbai City FC, Tiri has been a centre-back with exceptional ball-playing abilities and the ability to sweep the ball while defending. Tiri appeared in 23 games in the Indian Super League this season, keeping five clean sheets and proving to be very strong in defence, winning 77 duels and making 87 recoveries in the process.Tiri's football journey began in the Spanish divisions with his hometown club, Cádiz FC. He later joined Spanish giants Atlético Madrid and was appointed to their B team during a three-year stay with the club. The Spaniard arrived in India in 2015, and has since made 133 appearances in the Indian Super League – the second most by a foreigner in the history of the competition. By signing this extension with the Islanders, the Spaniard will enter his 9th career ISL season – the most for any foreign player since the league's inception.
