A patient died during surgery after giving birth to a baby boy on Monday night. This angered the patient's attendants and they attacked the doctors on Tuesday morning.

"We are outraged by this unprecedented act of violence. With immediate effect, we are on strike until an institutional FIR is registered to address this horrific incident. During this period, only emergency services will remain operational," the statement said.

In conversation with , a member of the doctors' association said: "At 5:30 in the morning, between 50 and 70 people entered the premises armed with knives and threatened the doctors. They intimidated us, which forced the doctors to lock themselves in. "Afterwards, they began banging on the doors and continuing to threaten us with harm. The doctors remained locked inside for four or five hours."

The RDA has issued urgent demands to improve security measures in all vulnerable areas of the hospital, advocating for the deployment of security personnel, including doormen, to prevent future threats. They have called for swift and strict measures against those responsible for the attack.

"This incident highlights a critical need for robust safety protocols to safeguard our medical professionals and patients," the RDA spokesperson emphasized.
