New Delhi, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday assured Bihar Agriculture Minister Mangal Pandey of unwavering support to the farmers of the state and advocated synergistic efforts between the Center and the state to promote agricultural development.

At the meeting held at Krishi Bhawan in New Delhi, Chouhan committed to reevaluate funding allocation under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) and the National Food Security Mission to boost Bihar's agriculture initiatives.

He urged them to submit new proposals to take these efforts forward, an official statement said.

During the discussions, Chouhan stressed on uninterrupted supply of Kharif and Rabi seeds, underlining the need for advanced planning.

The talks also included a comprehensive review of schemes and initiatives by the Agriculture Ministry.

Chouhan advocated synergistic efforts between the Center and the state to promote agricultural development and assured that farmers of Bihar will get unwavering support at the national level.

In the meeting, Chauhan said, "Farmers of Bihar will not be allowed to face any problem at the central level."

As Bihar Agriculture Minister stresses the imperative to strengthen Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) across the state, Union Minister Chouhan commits to evaluate their operational efficacy.

Highlighting Bihar's potential in maize and makhana production, Pandey sought Centre's assistance in maximizing these opportunities.

Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ramnath Thakur and senior officials of Central and State Agriculture and Horticulture Department were present in the meeting.

Recently the Union Minister met the Agriculture Ministers of Assam, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
