The NTA also dismissed allegations that the portals were compromised, calling them "incorrect and misleading."

"The NTA website and all its web portals are completely secure. Any information that has been compromised and hacked is incorrect and misleading," the NTA said in a post on X.

The NTA is facing criticism for alleged irregularities in the conduct of the National Eligibility Examination and Entrance Test (NEET) (UG) 2024. This has caused an uproar across the country, with the opposition demanding that the agency be scrapped. evidence. An unprecedented 67 candidates achieved a perfect score of 720 out of 720, adding to concerns.

Amid allegations of NEET irregularities, the Center postponed the NEET-PG exam a day before its postponed date and canceled the UGC-NET exam held on June 18.

Following the protests, the Centre, on the same day, sacked the NTA Director General and formed a high-level expert committee to ensure transparency in the examinations.

The government has diverted National Testing Agency (NTA) Director General Subodh Kumar Singh and put him on "mandatory hold" at the DoPT. Pradeep Singh Kharola has been appointed as the new director general of the NTA.

The high-level expert committee led by Dr K Radhakrishnan, former chairman of ISRO, IIT Kanpur, includes Dr Randeep Guleria, former director of AIIMS and academicians such as Aditya Mittal and Professor Ramamurthy K of the IIT system, who have spearheaded reforms to ensure integrity. of IIT exams.

The Committee will make recommendations on reforms in the mechanism of the review process, improvements in data security protocols and the structure and functioning of the NTA.

Furthermore, on the same day, the Central Investigation Bureau registered a criminal case based on a written complaint by the Director of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education regarding the irregularities of NEETs.

According to the agency's FIR, certain "isolated incidents" occurred in some states during the conduct of NEET (UG) 2024 exam which was held on May 5, 2024. The CBI has formed special teams to investigate the matter.
