Mumbai, German premium carmaker Volkswagen India on Monday said it will offer six airbags in all variants of its 5-star Global NCAP (GNCAP) safety-rated Taigun and Virtus models.

The company said that since the launch of the India 2.0 product portfolio, it has been continuously enhancing its product offering and expanding its variant line-up keeping in mind the customer demand for its cars in India.

While the subcompact crossover SUV Taigun was launched in India in September 2021, the theme-sized sedan Virtus was launched in March 2022.

Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said, "Our portfolio of India 2.0 cars will offer six airbags as standard across the entire line-up. With this, we are demonstrating our commitment towards safe mobility."

“We are also happy with Taigun and Virtus achieving over 1 lakh sales (since their launch),” he said.

Recently, Volkswagen India introduced two new variants of the Taigun GT Line with a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine and GT Plus Sport with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol option.
