When asked about the status of the third installment of 'Wonder Woman', Jenkins said: "Yeah, for a while, but probably forever."

The director appeared on Max's Talking Pictures podcast, where he shared all the details, reports Deadline.com.

Asked if another director would take on the film, Jenkins said: "No, he's not interested in doing a 'Wonder Woman' right now."

"So, when I left Star Wars to do 'Wonder Woman 3,' and I started working on that, we talked about, 'Okay, maybe I'll star after 'Wonder Woman 3'." Will be back in the Wars, so we started a deal to make that happen,'' he said.

"When 'Wonder Woman 3' went away, Lucasfilm and I were like, 'Oh, we're going to kill this deal.' We closed the deal right when the strike was starting, now I'm due for the Star Wars draft. So who knows what happens there?"

Jenkins said that Lucasfilm faces "a tough task deciding which first movie they're going to make."

“They have other directors working on that, but I'm back at Rogue Squadron now. We'll see what happens. We've got to get it to where we're very happy with it,'' he said.

The filmmaker said she would be "absolutely" happy to direct a film in the 'Star Wars' universe because she "finds something so beautiful in this world."

She said, "If I can do something beautiful and do something that the audience likes, I would love to do it."
