Noida: Seven people were found dead without any injury marks in different parts of Noida in the last 24 hours amid the heat wave, police said on Tuesday, adding that the cause of the deaths was not yet known.

According to the police, an unidentified man, believed to be a ragpicker, was found dead near Gate No. 5 of Amity University in Sector 126 area, while a 60-year-old man, who appeared to be a nomad, was found dead. Sector 1, Noida.

"Two bodies were recovered in Green Belt Park near Khoda T-Point, in Sector 58. No injuries were seen on the bodies. Local police inspected the spot and sent the bodies for postmortem," the police said in a statement. Gave."

"Yesterday (Monday), another unidentified person was found unconscious in Sector 61. The person was taken to the hospital, where he died during treatment," it said.

At the expressway area, 51-year-old security guard Brahmanand "suddenly" fell ill and was admitted to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

In another case, Shyamalal Bashak, a 45-year-old labourer, from West Bengal, currently living in Greater Noida, also fell ill and was declared dead on arrival at the community health center in Bhangel, the statement said.

On the possibility of heat wave being responsible for these deaths, a police spokesperson said that they are "actively investigating" these cases and have initiated the necessary legal proceedings.

"In all these cases, the bodies were sent for postmortem and the exact cause of death will be determined once the reports are received," the spokesperson said. He said that no obvious signs of injury were visible on any of the bodies.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department said heat wave conditions persisted in Noida on Tuesday, but predicted thunderstorms and lightning in the city on Thursday.
