Noida: The body of an unidentified person was found in a drain in Noida on Wednesday, after which the police has started investigating the case. The officers provided this information.
The body, which appeared to be three to four days old, was found covered with a gunny bag in a drain in Sector 72 under Sector 113 police station limits, he said.
An official said the local police were alerted about the body at around 7.30 pm.
"On receiving information about the body being found, a team of officers from Sector 113 police station immediately reached the spot. The age of the deceased was around 30-35 years and the police took the body into custody," the additional said. DCP (Noida) Manish Kumar Mishra.
"Efforts are on to ascertain the identity of the unidentified body. A team of forensic experts has also been called to the spot for inspection. The police team is collecting evidence from the spot," he said.
An official said the body was swollen as it was three to four days old.
Police said that further legal proceedings are underway in the case.
