Noida: Three members of a gang allegedly involved in theft in mobile towers of telecom companies and wanted in Rajasthan have been arrested by the Noida Police after seizing three Radio Receiving Units (RRUs). Officials gave this information on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Shakti) Mohan Awasthi said the accused were nabbed by the Crime Response Team (CRT) with the help of officials from the local Phase 3 police station.

According to the police, those arrested have been identified as Nitin Kumar (22), Akash (22) and Sagar (28), all residents of nearby Ghaziabad district.

Awasthi said, "A gang involved in theft of RRUs has been busted. Three members of the gang have been arrested and three RRUs, each worth around Rs 5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh, have been seized from them." It's Rs."

“The gang would monitor the area where mobile towers are installed and attack in the early morning hours as they steal RRUs, batteries and other valuable equipment from the towers,” the officer said.

He told that the Rajasthan Police was also looking for the gang members.

According to the police, this gang was active in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Delhi NCR and other states.

Police said they have also seized a commercial vehicle registered in Ghaziabad from the trio, which was used to commit the crime.

Police said that an FIR has been registered and the accused were produced in the local court, from where they were sent to judicial custody.
