The two deceased - 62-year-old Ghulam Sarwar and 30-year-old Rahat Ahmed Bajwa - were shot by two men in separate attacks in Punjab's Mandi Bahauddin district, about 250 km from Lahore.

Police said Ghulam Sarwar was returning home after offering Zuhr (afternoon) prayers at an Ahmadiyya place of worship when an unidentified person opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.

In the second incident, Rahat Bajwa was returning home from his catering center when a 17-year-old madrasa student opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.

The police managed to arrest the teenage killer who has been identified as Syed Ali Raza.
