Sehwag's comments came after PBKS suffered a narrow three-wicket defeat at the hands of Gujarat Giants in a low-scoring thriller, their sixth defeat of the season. Curran scored 20 runs in 19 balls and took one wicket for 18 runs in his two overs.

"If I was in the PBKS dugout, I wouldn't even pick him in my team, neither as a batting all-rounder nor as a bowling all-rounder. I wouldn't pick him," Sahwa said on Cricbuzz.

He said, "If a player can bowl a little and bat a little then he is of no use. Either you bowl well and win us the match or you bowl well and win us the game. Don't understand." Added.

Curran has had a very poor performance this season, scoring only 152 runs in eight innings at a strike rate of 116.03, with only one half-century in his account. In terms of bowling, he has taken 11 wickets in eight matches at an economy rate of 8.79.
