Mumbai: Shiv Sena's Kishor Darade has won from Nashik teachers constituency in the biennial elections of Maharashtra Legislative Council.

The result of this seat was declared after midnight on Tuesday.

Darade retained the seat by defeating his nearest rival Vivek Kolhe (Independent) and completing the victory quota of 63,151 valid votes, an election official said.

Voting for Mumbai Graduate, Konkan Graduate, Mumbai Teacher and Nashik Teacher constituencies was held on June 26. Except for Nashik teacher, the results of other three seats were declared on Monday.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anil Parab won the Mumbai graduates constituency by defeating BJP's Kiran Shelar.

With Parab's victory, the Uddhav Thackeray-led party retained the seat.

In Konkan Graduate constituency, sitting BJP MLC Niranjan Davkhare defeated Congress's Ramesh Keer.

Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate JM Abhyankar won the Mumbai Teachers seat.
