He highlighted the irony of Nitish Kumar's party JD-U forging an alliance with the BJP while he is still demanding special status for his government.

He commented: “JD-U also has to plead with its allies for its rights. it's sad. PM Narendra Modi should have given special state status to Bihar as soon as the government was formed at the Centre. If he cannot do this then it is sad for Bihar.

He further said, “What could be a bigger irony than this? Despite being in the government, JD-U is pleading to fulfill the demand for special status. Like Nitish Kumar, PM Modi neither cares about the people of Bihar nor about those who support him. It is very sad.”

Commenting on the frequent incidents of bridge collapse in Bihar, Meira Kumar said, 'The state and central governments together are engaged in ruining Bihar. Many bridges have been broken, no investigation is being done, and no action is being taken against the culprits. What is this government doing? The public is watching how bridges are built and then broken. We are demanding proper investigation and strict action against the culprits.”

He also talked about population control and admitted that the government is working on this issue. “It is important to create awareness among people. Efforts are being made to make everyone aware,” he said.
