New Delhi, On the occasion of World Environment Day, President Draupadi Murmu on Wednesday said climate change is affecting lives and livelihoods and called for collective efforts to build a better and greener world based on sustainability.

In a post on X, he said that it is the fundamental responsibility of everyone to protect Mother Earth.

Murmu said, “We are trustees and not owners of natural resources. Climate change is impacting lives and livelihoods, especially in vulnerable communities. Let us make collective efforts to build a better and greener world based on sustainability "

World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5 June.
