New Delhi, Delhi Police officials on Friday said that multi-layered security arrangements will be made at Rashtrapati Bhavan with five companies of paramilitary personnel, NSG commandos, drones and snipers for the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 9. .

Officials said the national capital will be on high alert on the day as dignitaries from SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) countries have been invited to the function.

According to officials, the dignitaries attending the swearing-in ceremony will be given designated routes from their hotel to the venue and back.

Top leaders from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan, Nepal, Mauritius and Seychelles are likely to attend the swearing-in ceremony. Hotels like Leela, Taj, ITC Maurya, Claridge and Oberoi in the city have already been brought under security cover.On the day of the event, SWAT and NSG commandos of Delhi Police will be deployed around Rashtrapati Bhavan and various strategic locations.

Officials said Delhi Police officials have held several meetings at the police headquarters and New Delhi district to chalk out security plans for the event.

According to a senior police officer, since the event is going to be held inside the Rashtrapati Bhavan, there will be three-tier security both inside and outside the complex. Delhi Police personnel will be deployed on the outer ring, followed by paramilitary forces and internal security personnel of Rashtrapati Bhavan on the inner ring.

"Around 2,500 police personnel, including five companies of paramilitary forces and Delhi Armed Police (DAP) personnel, have been planned to be deployed around the venue," the official said.,

Snipers and armed police personnel will also be deployed on the routes of the dignitaries and drones will be deployed at strategic locations in the New Delhi district, another official said, adding that the security cover is likely to be similar to previous G20 summits. Year.
