Jagadhri (Haryana): Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday called Prime Minister Narendra Modi a 'lord of liars' and claimed that BJD wants to destroy democracy.

Addressing his first rally in Haryana, Kharge said that people are fed up with the BJP.

He said, "There are some people who say 'Modi, Modi'. He is the 'lord of lies'. Yet you say 'Modi-Modi'. I do not want to abuse anyone and I am not against Modi. " But I am definitely against Modi's ideology and am fighting against it again,” Kharge said in the state's Jagadhri city.

He said the Congress was fighting against the ideology of the RSS – a Hindu rights organization and the ideological parent of the BJP.

Kharge said, "You are snatching the Constitution and we are fighting against it. You want to end democracy and we are fighting against it."

He said, "Modi ji, you think you are smart. The people of this country are smarter than you. People are fighting against you."

Kharge said that the current fight is between the public and Modi and the public and BJP. "Because, people are fed up with them."

Regarding the PM, Kharge said that he had promised Rs 15 lakh in everyone's bank account, crore jobs every year and doubling the income of farmers.

He asked the audience, "Is he a liar or a good person... What is wrong if I call such a Prime Minister the 'lord of lies'?"
