They raised slogans against the Mahayuti government for not helping distressed farmers after crop damage due to unseasonal rains, hailstorm and even drought.

The opposition also targeted the Mahayuti government over Maharashtra slipping to sixth place in per capita state income and lagging behind Telangana, Karnataka and Gujarat.

He also expressed serious concern over the decline in the growth rate of agriculture and allied sectors by more than 2.50 percent and the decline in the growth rate of services sector by 4.2 percent in 2023-24.

The opposition party MLAs, led by Ambadas Danve and Vijay Wadettiwar, leaders of opposition in the State Council and Assembly respectively, demanded that the Maharashtra government provide financial assistance to the farmers at the earliest.

Furthermore, he also expressed serious concern over the increasing public debt burden on Maharashtra.

Wadettiwar said the Economic Survey 2023-24 has shown a huge decline in farm income and accused the government of neglecting the agriculture sector.

He also blamed the Mahayuti government for Gujarat overtaking Maharashtra in terms of per capita state income.
