MUMBAI: A 59-year-old woman, embroiled in a dispute with her housing society, tried to slit her wrists outside Vidhan Bhawan in Mumbai on Tuesday, where the state legislature is in session, police said.

He told that the woman named Tara Sable has suffered a superficial injury on her wrist.

The incident took place at Usha Mehta Chowk in front of Vidhan Bhavan around 5.45 pm, he said, adding that the police personnel present at the spot immediately intervened and took Sable to the hospital.

He was released after first aid and later taken to the police station for counselling, the officer said.

According to the official, Sable was involved in some dispute with her housing society in Thane and had tried to meet Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, but could not get the time.

"She came near Vidhan Bhawan this evening and tried to cut her wrist with a blade," the officer said.
