Its objective is to bring uniformity in tax on petrol and diesel after representation of petrol pump owners and vehicle owners.

Tax on diesel has been reduced from 24 percent to 21 percent and on petrol from 26 percent to 25 percent per liter. This will provide relief of 65 paise per liter in petrol and Rs 2.07 per liter in diesel.

Pawar said that this will provide relief to common citizens and industry and business.

He also proposed exemption from professional tax to personnel of five central armed paramilitary forces – Assam Rifles, Central Industrial Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, National Security Guards and Sashastra Seema Bal. About 12,000 soldiers will benefit from this.

Additionally, Pawar has proposed to reduce the stamp duty penalty from 2 percent to 1 percent. "If less stamp duty is found to have been paid in the registered document, the penalty imposed on the difference in stamp duty amount is reduced from 2 per cent to 1 per cent per month from the date of execution of the document."

He also proposed the refund of stamp duty along with starting the online application process. The time limit for application will be one year from the date of purchase of the stamp instead of six months.
