IMPHAL, Manipur The Cabinet has decided to convene the next session of the Assembly from July 31, a state minister said on Friday.
Information and Public Relations Minister Sapam Ranjan told reporters here that the session will continue till August 6.
He said that among other developments, the Cabinet decided that personnel of the Village Defense Force (VDF), a unit of the Manipur Police, will now be "transferable" from one district to another.
Further, it approved important amendments including amendments to the Manipur Private Schools Registration and Regulation Act 2017 and the Funding Universities Act to address the issue of selection, tenure and other details of the Vice-Chancellor.
