Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will visit the train accident site in New Jalpaiguri on Monday to take stock of the relief operations, an official said.

At least 15 passengers were killed and 60 others were injured when three rear coaches of the Sealdah-bound Kanchenjunga Express derailed after colliding with a goods train in West Bengal's Darjeeling district on Monday morning.

"The chief minister is going to visit the accident site in New Jalpaiguri to take stock of the relief operations," the official said.

Railway officials said that the rear three coaches of the goods train derailed due to a rear-end collision with the engine of the goods train near Rangpani station, about 30 km from New Jalpaiguri station in North Bengal.
