“This (central) government is not stable… not strong. This cannot continue further...my best wishes to him,” the Chief Minister said in a brief media interaction.

Responding to a question, the Chief Minister said that during the last Lok Sabha elections, the victory margin in a particular constituency of the city (Mumbai North West) was only 48 votes.

The Chief Minister said, "He has done this in many other areas... otherwise he would not have come (to office) this time (2024), I am sure of it..."

She was speaking after meeting Shiv Sena (UBT) president and former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, his wife Rashmi and their sons Aditya and Tejas at their Bandra home 'Matoshree'.

Thackeray, who described her as 'my sister', said it was a family visit and urged the media to keep politics out of it, but promised that "we will hold a separate press conference on all this."

This was Mamata Banerjee's first meeting with Thackeray after the Lok Sabha elections and she will meet Nationalist Congress Party (SP) President Sharad Pawar this evening.

He is also likely to meet Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and other leaders who are expected to attend the Ambani family wedding tonight.

Mamata Banerjee is known to have close personal relations with senior Pawar and Thackeray and makes it a point to meet them whenever they visit Maharashtra.
