New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India expects sales of its CNG cars to grow by more than 30 percent to around 6 lakh units in the current financial year, according to a senior company official.

The country's largest carmaker also aims to export around 3 lakh units in the current financial year.

"So CNG, this year, we made around 4,50,000 (units) in passenger vehicles. We are expecting something like 6,00,000 vehicles in FY 2024-25," said Maruti Suzuki Indi's corporate affairs executive. Director Rahul Bharti told an analyst. call out.The company sells CNG trims in various models like WagonR, Brezza, Dezire and Ertiga in the domestic market.

Bharti said the expansion of capacity at the company's Manesar plant, Haryana by about 1 lakh units per annum largely addresses the Ertiga supply issues.

He said that the demand for Ertiga CNG is very high in the market, which is creating supply related problems.

On overseas shipments, Bharti said the company aims to export around 3 lakh units.

“We made around 2,83,000 units in FY2024.This is despite the fact that we have grown significantly from the normal 1,00,000 units per year that we used to do about 4 years ago. We want to take this further in future years. ,

"And this year, we should aim for around 3,00,000 units across different markets, diversifying into different products," he said.

Responding to a separate question on the company's upcoming plant in Kharkhoda, Haryana, Bharti said the project is part of the automaker's ambitious growth plan.

He said, “Construction at Kharkhoda is already in progress and the first plant with an annual production capacity of 2,50,000 units is scheduled to be operational by 2025.,

He said the company has space to set up four such plants at Kharkhoda with a total capacity of 1 lakh units.

Maruti Suzuki aims to produce 40 lakh vehicles per year by fiscal 2030-31, almost double the current level.
