New Delhi: About 62.19 percent voting has taken place so far in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections, which is 1.97 percent less than in 2019.

With the fifth phase of voting ending on Monday evening, voting for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections has been completed in 25 states and union territories and 428 constituencies. Now two more phases – May 25 and June 1 – are left.

In the same phase of the 2019 elections, when voting was held on 51 seats in seven states, 64.16 percent voting was recorded.

According to the Election Commission, the voting percentage in the fourth phase was 69.16 percent, which is 3.65 percentage points higher than the corresponding phase of the 2019 parliamentary elections.

The updated voting figure for the third phase of voting in the Lok Sabha elections was 65.68 percent. There was 68.4 percent voting in the third phase of 2019 elections.

In the second phase of the 2024 elections, 66.71 percent voting was recorded, while in the second phase of 2019, 69.64 percent voting was recorded.

66.14 percent voting was recorded in the first phase of the ongoing general elections. In the 2019 elections, there was 69.43 percent voting in the first phase.

The poll panel has said that the final voting results will be available only after the counting of postal ballots and total voting percentage are added.
