New Delhi, A film inspired by the life of late Lance Naik Nazir Wani, a terrorist-turned-soldier who sacrificed his life while fighting a group of terrorists in Kashmir, is under development at production house Baweja Studios.
The action drama, whose title symbolizes brotherhood in the army, will showcase Wani's journey from a dreaded terrorist in Kashmir to a distinguished Indian soldier who sacrificed his life in the line of duty in 2018. He is the first Kashmiri to be awarded Ashoka. Chakra, India's highest peacetime gallantry award.
Producer Harman Baweja said it is an honor for the banner to bring Vani's inspiring journey to the silver screen.
Baweja said, "His journey from a misguided terrorist to ultimately serving the country with extraordinary bravery is a story the world must watch. The film is about him, his wife and the Indian Army. A tribute to the sacrifices made to protect the Said in a statement.
Former Chief of Integrated Defense Staff Lieutenant General Satish Du congratulated Baweja Studios for showcasing Wani's story in a film.
