Mumbai, Shiv Shiv Sena (UBT) MLAs on Wednesday urged Maharashtra Legislative Council Deputy Speaker Neelam Gore to revoke the suspension of opposition leader Ambadas Danve, a day after he faced action on the grounds of using abusive language in the House. Had to do.

Members of the upper house of the state legislature belonging to the party said that since Danve was ready to apologize for his words, his suspension should be withdrawn.

Danve was suspended from the House for five days on Tuesday for using abusive language against BJP MLA Prasad Lad during a discussion in the council on Monday evening. Lad had sought to bring a resolution in the Lok Sabha condemning Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's 'not a Hindu' remark, to which the Sena (UBT) leader had reacted sharply.

Shiv Sena (UBT) legislature party leader Anil Parab requested Gore to allow him to make a statement during Question Hour.

"Leader of Opposition Ambadas Danve has expressed his desire to apologize for his alleged misbehavior and use of inappropriate language in the House. Our party leader, Uddhav Thackeray has also apologized for Danve's actions. Yet, a unilateral decision was taken Gaya House, resulting in Danway's suspension," Parab said

"To show solidarity with our opposition leader, the party MLAs have decided not to take part in the House proceedings. We will remain silent in the House to express our objection to the unilateral proceedings," he said.

In response to his statement, Gore said, "Once Question Hour is over, we can call a meeting of party leaders to discuss this issue."
