New Delhi: Bodies of 50 people from deprived socio-economic backgrounds were recovered around Delhi during the last 48 hours, police said, as casualties and heatstroke cases increased due to the scorching heat in the city.

However, police and health officials have not confirmed whether all of them died due to heat-related causes.

The body of a 55-year-old man was found at the Children's Park near India Gate on Wednesday and a post-mortem will be conducted to find out the cause of death, a senior police officer said.
