At least one person died and five others went missing after a massive landslide triggered by heavy rains in Gangtok, Sikkim. Officials gave this information on Thursday.

The body of one person was found in Pakshep area of ​​Mangan, while three people were missing from Ambithang near Rangrang and two others went missing from Pakshep.

Officials said mobile network services were affected in North Sikkim, while a request was made by the district administration to send SDRF team with rations to Mangan.

Meanwhile, Mangan District Magistrate Hem Kumar Chhetri called an urgent meeting with all the heads of various departments to defuse the situation.
