Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], The mortal remains of CRPF jawan Vishnu R (35), who lost his life in an IED blast in Sukma, Chhattisgarh, were brought to his home in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, on Tuesday.

Two jawans of CRPF CoBRA 201 battalion lost their lives in an IED blast by Naxalites between Silger and Tekulagudem under Jagargunda police station limits in Sukma district on Sunday, June 23. The other jawan was identified as Shailendra (29). who hailed from Kanpur of Uttar Pradesh.

The security personnel were part of the 201st battalion of the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA).

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday expressed grief over the death of two security personnel due to an IED blast carried out by Naxalites in Sukma district. The Chief Minister described the Naxal attack as a "cowardly act out of frustration" over the ongoing Naxal eradication drive in Bastar.

According to officials, the incident occurred at 3 pm on Sunday when these jawans were on road opening duty from Camp Silger under Jagargunda police station area to Camp Tekalgudem.

The explosion of the improvised explosive device (IED) planted by the Naxalites claimed lives. The IED was planted by Naxalites on the road from Camp Silger to Tekalgudem to harm the security forces.
