New Delhi [India], Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan on Monday said there is a need to develop a "joint culture" for the armed forces to bring in fresh perspectives from the best in each service. General Chauhan was addressing the tri-services conclave, 'Parivartan Chintan', which brainstormed new ideas, initiatives and reforms to further "jointness and integration" among the three services, as theater commands consider -Discussions are ongoing, all three services lasted throughout the day The tri-service conference on Monday discussed how 'jointness and integration' were necessary for change in joint structures, General Chauhan said by reinforcing positivity and speeding up change. And stressed the need to work towards Connectivity 2.0 by ensuring momentum. The conference, the first of its kind, aimed at quantifying the large-scale reforms, development of combined culture and integration efforts to enhance our efficiency, war fighting capability and interoperability, will be primarily linked to the implementation of the ambitious plans of the Government. Various related aspects were discussed. The initiative to launch a theater command, which was envisioned as part of larger defense reforms, was launched by Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan highlighting the need to develop a joint culture for the armed forces 'Chintan' Respecting that distinctiveness, the Defense Ministry said, "The best of each service is used to provide a fresh approach to traditional concepts." "Warfighting capability and interoperability" are the "cornerstones" of the transformation in joint formations that the Indian armed forces are pursuing with the intention of becoming "future ready", the ministry said in a statement.The three Services and Headquarters IDS with diverse service experience also participated in the discussion and contributed ideas towards introducing the next generation of reforms related to modernization, procurement training, adaptation and collaboration by adopting emerging and innovative technologies. Lieutenant General JP Mathew, Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC), Chief of the Integrated Defense Staff, in his concluding remarks expressed confidence that inputs on national strategic issues impacting national security in both civil and military domains will also be considered- Was discussed.
