New Delhi [India], The Home Ministry on Tuesday designated Kollam port in Kerala as an authorized Immigration Check Post (ICP) for entry and exit from India for all categories of passengers with valid travel documents.

"In pursuance of sub-rule (b) of rule 3 of the Passport (Entry into India) Rules, 1950, the Central Government hereby designates the port of Kollam in the State of Kerala as an authorized Immigration Check Post (ICP) for entry/exit Valid travel documents exist for all categories of travelers in India,” the order said.

The Central government, in a separate order, also appointed the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer in Thiruvananthapuram as the civil authority for the ICP in Kollam.

"In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 2 of the Foreigners Order, 1948, the Central Government hereby appoints the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer, Trivandrum, to be the "Civil Authority" for the purposes of the said Order. 18 June , Immigration Check Post located at Kollam Port in the State of Kerala from 2024,” the order mentioned.
