Earlier on June 17, the National Investigation Agency took over the Reasi terror attack case in Jammu and Kashmir and launched a thorough investigation to unearth the underlying conspiracy behind the attack, which has worsened the security situation in the Union Territory. But the worry increased.

The anti-terrorism agency took over the case from the Jammu and Kashmir Police on June 15 and filed a fresh First Information Report (FIR) following orders from the Home Ministry, keeping in mind the seriousness of the incident as the attackers boarded a bus. Was targeted. Pilgrims on the evening of June 9 – the day when the entire Union Cabinet, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was taking oath at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

At least nine people were killed and 33 others were injured when a bus carrying pilgrims fell into a gorge following a terrorist attack on June 9 evening in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district.

A day after the attack, an NIA team also visited the site to support the local police and assess the ground situation.

The NIA forensic team also visited the spot, contributing in collecting evidence.

The NIA, India's premier counter-terrorism agency, often collaborates with state police to address high-profile and sensitive cases as part of its regular caseload in terror attack cases.

The terrorists attacked the bus when it was coming from Ransu area of ​​Reasi district.

Police had said that the bus was carrying pilgrims from Shiv Khori cave temple to Katra in Reasi district and was attacked at around 6.10 pm on June 9 in Terayath village in Pauni area of ​​Reasi district, bordering Rajouri district.
