Justice Bhatnagar, who was a practicing lawyer for 13 years and a judicial officer for 24 years, was part of the division bench of the high court that rejected the bail plea of ​​activist Umar Khalid in the "larger conspiracy case" in October 2022. Born on June 14, 1962, Justice Bhatnagar completed his B.Sc. from Delhi University in 1983 and LLB from Campus Law Centre, Delhi University in 1987.

He enrolled himself as an advocate in 1987 and joined the Delhi Higher Judicial Service in 2000. He was elevated as a permanent judge of the Delhi High Court on March 27, 2019.
