New Delhi, According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature in the national capital on Thursday was recorded at 29.4 degrees Celsius, which is one degree above the season's average.

The humidity at 8.30 am was 37 percent.

The weather department has predicted partly cloudy sky with heatwave and strong surface winds at times during the day. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 45 degrees Celsius.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi's air quality index (AQI) stood at 181 in the 'poor' category at 9 am.

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', between 51 and 100 'satisfactory', between 101 and 200 'moderate', between 201 and 300 'poor', between 301 and 400 'very poor' and 401 and between 500 is considered 'severe'.
