The deceased was identified as Nitesh, a resident of Mahavir Enclave, Palam.

The accused, identified as Govinda Parmane, was nabbed within four hours of the crime on Tuesday and two knives used in the crime were recovered from his spot, a police officer said.

Police said that on Tuesday morning, the Police Control Room (PCR) received information about a dead body being found in a house in Palam area, after which a police team reached the spot. The crime scene was preserved and inspected by crime and FSL teams.

The caller, Raju, who is the owner of the house, told the police that when he returned to his house, he heard the commotion. Once inside, they saw a man covered in blood and called the police.

Nitish's body was taken to DDU Hospital and kept safe in the mortuary. During the investigation, the team searched the area of ​​Hamdard forest and succeeded in arresting the accused Parmane who was hiding there.

"Parma got addicted to alcohol/drugs due to peer group influence. During interrogation, she revealed that on Monday night, Nitish came to her room with his girlfriend and they drank alcohol together. Around 4 in the morning At o'clock, he asked Nitish to come out of his room because he wanted to sleep," said Rohit Meena, deputy commissioner of police, south-west.

He said, “Nitesh got angry at this and called her to meet him in the street below his room at around 6 in the morning. Nitesh was stronger than him and fearing being beaten, he took two knives for protection. When he went to meet Nitesh, he started slapping him. After this, angry Parmane attacked him with a knife.
