New Delhi: Delhi Lieutenant Governor and DDA Chairman VK Saxena performed yoga at Bansera on the banks of river Yamuna on the occasion of International Yoga Day on Friday, a statement said.

Apart from Bansera, Delhi Development Authority celebrated Yoga Day in its 18 sports complexes/golf courses and nine DDA parks, in which around 20,000 people participated.

These sports facilities include Yamuna Sports Complex, Siri Fort Sports Complex, Saket Sports Complex, Vasant Kunj Sports Complex, Major Dhyan Chand Sports Complex, Chilla Sports Complex, East Delhi Sports Complex and Roshanara Club.

It said Union Health Minister JP Nadda did yoga with residents of neighboring areas at DDA's Yamuna Sports Complex, while Saxena did yoga on the banks of Yamuna in Bansera.

International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on 21 June. This year's theme was "Yoga for Self and Society".

Delhi Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, DDA Vice Chairman Subhashish Panda, senior Delhi government officials, DDA employees and members of the public were also present at Bansera, Delhi's first bamboo theme park spread over an area of ​​37 acres, the statement said.
