New Delhi: The national capital may receive rain on Sunday evening as the city's maximum temperature was recorded at 35.8 degrees Celsius, 0.8 degrees below the season's average, the weather office said.

It said Delhi's minimum temperature was 26.2 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees below the season's average.

The India Meteorological Department has predicted generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rain and thundershowers or lightning in the evening.

According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will generally be cloudy till July 10 and there will be light rain.

The humidity at 5:30 pm on Sunday was 60 percent.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the air quality index (AQI) of the national capital was recorded in the "satisfactory" category with a reading of 56 at 6 pm.

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered "good", between 51 and 100 "satisfactory", between 101 and 200 "moderate", between 201 and 300 "poor", between 301 and 400 "very poor" and 401 and between 500 is considered "severe".
