Bhau is a resident of Ritoli village in Rohtak, Haryana and is one of the most wanted criminals in the state. He has fled India and is currently operating his criminal network from Portugal.

According to Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sanjay Bhatia, an incident of firing was reported at Tilak Nagar police station on the evening of May 6, where three people opened fire inside the Fusion CA showroom to create fear of their gang leader Himanshu. The next day, on May 7, the complainant received a threatening call from an international VoIP number. The caller introduced himself as Himanshu Bhau and demanded Rs 5 crore.

“On May 14, further investigation of the case was handed over to the crime branch. During investigation, it was found that the syndicate of Himanshu and his associates was continuously indulging in illegal activities for economic gain, hence, MCOC Act has been instituted against Himanshu Bhau. The gang is being further investigated,” Bhatia said.
